⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Loved it! A must-own book.

Read Stolen by Shadows if you like sprawling epic fantasy, morally questionable princes, and a world that somehow keeps getting bigger with every book.

*This review is of the sixth book in the series. If you want to read my thoughts on all the other books in this series, check them out here.

FYI: I read this as an eARC (aka an early digital copy), and as always—you’re getting my honest, unfiltered thoughts. This one hits shelves 7.21.2026.

📖 What’s Inside:

  • 🥸 Espionage
  • Multi POV
  • Vouyerism 👀
  • On-page intimacy 🔴
  • 👹Goblins/Magical creatures
  • Explicit language
  • “My wife” “mine” they’re all a little (a lot) possessive
  • Portal world 🕳️

Book Boyfriend Meter: ❤️

Would date. (I can fix him).

For this series, I score whichever prince the book focuses on.

This one’s Cas. I adore him… but I definitely prefer his possessive side over his softer one. #TeamGreen 💚

✨ Vibes:

The Lord of the Rings — epic fantasy worldbuilding

Alice in Wonderland — bizarre magical creatures and surreal worlds

Basically: Lord of the Rings meets Alice in Wonderland… but make it BDSM.

💭 My Thoughts:

I know I said this in my review of book 5, but every time I come back to this series, it feels like I’m catching up with old friends.

Dangerous friends. Questionable friends. But friends nonetheless.

The characters have grown so much over the course of this series, and I love that the authors aren’t afraid to let them make terrible decisions along the way.

I’ve seen people complain that their favorite characters have changed. That they’ve made mistakes. But honestly? That’s exactly why I’m so invested. People mess up. People disappoint you. People grow. If everyone made perfect decisions all the time…

This series would’ve gotten boring three books ago. Instead, it just keeps getting better.

THE WORLD:

I genuinely don’t know how Elizabeth Helen keeps pulling this off.

Every single book expands the world in ways I never see coming. Just when I think I’ve got everything figured out…

Boom.

Here’s another layer. Another kingdom. Another creature. Another impossible problem. And somehow it all still makes sense. That’s ridiculously hard to do in epic fantasy.

This isn’t just a why choose romance anymore.

It’s full-blown epic fantasy that just happens to have five incredibly attractive princes.

THE PLOT:

I was about a quarter of the way through when I looked up and realized, I’d been reading for hours. It felt like minutes. That’s always the sign of a great book.

The pacing is relentless. The stakes keep climbing. And I never once found myself wondering how many pages I had left.

Instead I was wondering… “Okay… but how in the world are they getting out of THIS?”

That’s exactly the feeling I want from epic fantasy.

CRITICISMS:

My only real complaint?

There’s a little repetition between POVs.

Since multiple characters witness the same events, we occasionally revisit information we’ve already seen. It wasn’t enough to pull me out of the story… But I did notice it. Honestly though? By this point I was having too much fun to care.

This series has reached the point where I completely trust the authors.

After every release I’ve worried: “Surely THIS is the book where the momentum starts slipping.”

And every single time… They prove me wrong. The world gets richer. The stakes get higher. The characters get more complicated.

Even the romance feels perfectly balanced with the fantasy.

The spicy scenes never overwhelm the story.

They’re simply another piece of an already phenomenal epic fantasy.

At this point? I’ve never been more confident in a series finale, and I cannot wait for the final book.

And you better believe I’ll be fighting for an ARC the second sign-ups open.

Should you add Stolen by Shadows to your TBR?

Absolutely.

This isn’t a series that’s running out of steam.

If anything…

It somehow gets better with every single book.
