Book Boyfriend Meter: ❤️

Would date. (I can fix him)

The Spring Prince! Ugh, he’s so hot. Yeah, so he wears a helmet 90% of the time, but hey, I find the mystery sexy. He’s like my second favorite prince, babes.

💭 My Thoughts:

The third book in the Beasts of the Briar series dropped and I did not hesitate.

The second it was available, I had it.

Because after finishing Woven by Gold?

There was no way I wasn’t continuing immediately.

That said… I went into Forged by Malice with two very strong emotions:

Excitement.
And absolute fear.

Because we all know what happens in the middle of a series…

Cliffhangers.

And yes — the fear was valid.

BUT.

With nearly 600 pages, this book gives you so much story before it leaves you hanging.

And honestly? I loved every second of it.

This is the book where things really start to come together.

Questions I’ve had since Book 1?

Finally getting answers.

And let me tell you — those reveals were worth the wait.

The plot in this series just keeps getting more layered and complex, and this installment really leans into that. There’s so much happening, but it never feels rushed. I actually found myself slowing down to savor it, which is rare for me in a bingeable fantasy series.

And can we talk about the improvement in writing?

One of my small critiques in the earlier books was the occasional stiff dialogue — and that has been significantly smoothed out here.

Everything feels more natural, more immersive, and more emotionally grounded.

Now let’s address the romance side of things…

Yes, this book brings the spice.

But what I really appreciated is that it never takes over the story.

Every romantic moment feels intentional and well-timed. It enhances the plot instead of distracting from it, which is exactly what I want in a fantasy romance.

Because at the end of the day?

This is still a plot-driven, character-rich story — just with added tension, chemistry, and emotional payoff.

By this point, I am fully invested in these characters and this world.

Like… emotionally attached.

📚Read Alikes:

If you love fae romance with high stakes and emotional payoff, try:

• Rain of Shadows and Endings — epic fantasy with character driven plot lines.
• Empire of Flame and Thorns — fae, high stakes, enemies to lovers emotional damage.
• Warrior Princess Assassin — why choose romance with political intrigue.

Should you add Forged by Malice to your TBR?

Yes. 100%.

But only if you’ve read the first two books — this is a continuation of the series and you absolutely need to read from the beginning.
