⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | Loved it! A must-own book.

Packed with enemies-to-lovers tension, magical intrigue, and romance so good it’ll leave you craving more. Amid Clouds and Bones by Ella Fields is the perfect standalone fantasy romance. Check out my Amid Clouds and Bones book review below. As always, it’s spoiler-free!

Summary:

As the half faerie daughter of a human king, my days were spent tucked out of sight—until the Seelie Fae sought an alliance with our kingdom. In exchange for my father’s help in defeating their Unseelie enemies, I would wed Atakan the heartless.

The Seelie prince loathed everyone, but none more than me. Throughout the years leading to our nuptials, each encounter grew more terrifying than the last as he demonstrated how he’d earned his infamous reputation.

Fear would only doom me faster. So I learned to hide it with games I soon became happy to play. I wasn’t supposed to crave a monster. But just when I’d thought I might tame the untameable, fate intervened.

And delivered me straight to his enemy.

Read this if you like:

  • A half-human, half-fae FMC caught between warring factions
  • True enemies-to-lovers romance
  • High-stakes survival in a richly built fantasy world
  • Fated mates, magical creatures, and shifters
  • Standalone fantasy romances that feel complete but leave you wanting more

📖 What’s Inside:

  • True enemies-to-lovers romance
  • 💖 Fated mates
  • Loveable pets
  • Espionage 👀
  • Magical creatures & shifters 🐈‍⬛
  • 🌈 Inclusive
  • Seelie and Unseelie fae
  • On-page intimacy 🔴
  • Explicit language
  • Plot twists! 😵‍💫

✨ Vibes:

Think The Cruel Prince meets The Fair Isle Trilogy—intense, political, and magical with swoon-worthy romance.

💭 My Thoughts:

I was in the mood for enemies-to-lovers with a forced/arranged marriage and wow…this book delivered that and so much more! I was hooked from the first chapter.

It’s hard to believe this is a standalone romantasy—it’s absolutely jam-packed with tension, romance, worldbuilding, twists, and a satisfying ending. Even though I don’t need more, I still want more. That’s how perfect this book is.

The balance is flawless: romance, spicy scenes, plot, worldbuilding, and twists—all wrapped up in a single book. If you’re looking for a standalone fantasy romance with true enemies-to-lovers, this is top of my recommendation list.

Should you add Amid Clouds and Bones to your TBR?

Yes. Absolutely yes. It has it all: romance, intrigue, magical creatures, plot twists, and a standalone ending that feels complete yet leaves you wanting more. Don’t miss it.
