⭐️⭐️⭐️ | It’s Okay. Still Recommend.

Looking for a fast-paced fantasy that’s equal parts chaos, comedy, and Greek-inspired action? Bonds of Hercules by Jasmine Mas brings back the messy brilliance of Alexis’ world — and all her men — for another wild ride.

Summary:

I’m Hercules, but my powers are not what they seem.

I’m trapped in a marriage with my two enemies and I’ve accidentally joined a cult. To make matters worse, Augustus and Kharon are trying to seduce me. It doesn’t help that my mentors, Achilles and Patro, are acting really strange.

Now, a dangerous prisoner has escaped from the Underworld, and things are spiraling out of control.

Men are fighting over me.

Mysteries are unfolding left and right.

And I’ve had enough.

Everybody better beware because I’m fighting in the Gladiator Competition and seizing my power.

Things are about to get very messy.

For Sparta.

📖 What’s Inside:

  • ❤️‍🩹 He tends her wounds
  • Multi POV
  • “Who did this to you”
  • On-page intimacy 🔴
  • Possessive MMCs
  • 🌈 Inclusive
  • Only one bed 🛏️
  • Unique magic system
  • Explicit language

✨ Vibes:

Greek mythology meets pure chaos. It’s wild, funny, and full of fight scenes that keep you guessing what’s real and what’s just Alexis being Alexis.

💭 My Thoughts:

I totally gave in to FOMO with this one. I told myself I’d wait for a sale since book one was only $3 when I grabbed it (thank you, limited-time deal gods). But the hype got to me, and I thought, “Okay fine, full price balances out in the end, right?” #BookGirlMath.

And honestly? I forgot how much I missed Alexis’ inner monologue. It’s laugh-out-loud funny, unhinged, and one of my favorite parts of this series. Well, that and… all the men. Yum.

But here’s the thing… this book is choppy. Like, blink-and-you-miss-it chaotic. Maybe that’s part of Alexis’ charm, but it made the pacing hard to follow. The plot gets a little lost in the chaos, and the last 40% dragged more than I hoped. Book one was lightning in a bottle; book two… not quite the same magic.

Still, I had fun. It’s a mess, but it’s a fun mess — and that’s honestly the most accurate description of Alexis’ life in general. However, I’ve had my fill of it. I don’t plan to continue the series.

Should You Add Bonds of Hercules To Your TBR?

If you loved the first book, go ahead and continue the ride — just go in with managed expectations and maybe a deep breath or two.

That Ending Tho…

Alexis might not have it all together, but she’ll definitely keep you entertained while trying.
