Just one more bargain.
Since childhood, Wendy Darling’s fate has been ruled by Mating Marks and fae bargains. Now, one last bargain with a Fate has gained Nolan Astor’s freedom. But when the cost turns out to be far greater than Wendy anticipated, both she and Astor must answer one question:

This is the fourth installment in The Lost Girl Series and the epic finale to Wendy Darling’s story. *This title will be released on October 17, 2025.
📖 What’s Inside:

- ✨ Flawed, imperfect characters you can’t help but root for
✨ Vibes:
I got major Wisteria vibes, especially with the Fate-and-tapestry threads woven into the story.
💭 My Thoughts:
From the very first chapters, this book had me SQUEALING. The opening feels like the ending we’ve all been waiting for, but really, it’s just the beginning, and it’s so satisfying. Of course, in true T.A. Lawrence fashion, the joy doesn’t last long before the emotional gut-punches start flying. Buckle up, because in the Lost Girl series, happily-ever-afters are anything but easy.
I absolutely love Lawrence’s storytelling. It feels like a story within a story, layered and intricate, always pulling you deeper. This installment is a true emotional rollercoaster: the highs are so high, the lows are devastatingly low, and I couldn’t look away.
That said, I did have a couple of gripes (⚠️ spoilers ahead if you keep reading):
- The intimacy payoff fell flat. After three books of yearning, angst, and emotional turmoil, I wanted more. Not open-door spice necessarily, but a deeper, more meaningful closed-door moment to match the weight of their journey. As written, it felt like both the characters and the readers got a little shortchanged, especially when said moment is so foundational for the plot. Speaking of…
- The pregnancy plot gave me the ick. With its ties to the bargain and the baby’s future, it overshadowed the storyline I thought we were headed toward (Nolan’s sickness). The labor scene—written in first person, present tense—was just too much for me in a fantasy setting. I found myself wanting less detail there.
Even so, the ending delivered the HEA we’ve been desperate for. Wendy and Nolan’s journey finally comes full circle, and while this book closes out their story, there’s still more to come in the series with Tink’s book on the horizon. So, we’re not quite done yet!
*A special thank you to the author for providing me an eARC of this book. As always, my reviews have no guesswork, no fluff, just straight-up honesty.
Should you add Chasing Never to your TBR?
At this point in the series, why would you not??
