My Most Anticipated Fantasy Romance Reads of 2026

AKA: Books I am already rearranging my life for.

✨Heads up! Some links in this post are Amazon affiliate links. That means if you click and buy, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Thanks for helping me keep this blog running and my TBR endless! 📚

Let’s be clear:
2026 is not here to be gentle.
It’s here to drop sequels, dragons, enemies, wolves, and emotional devastation directly onto my TBR and walk away laughing.

This list is stacked. It is unhinged.
This list will absolutely ruin my productivity.

Here are my most anticipated fantasy books of 2026. Let’s get into it.

Most anticipated fantasy books of early 2026

❄️ Dawn of the North (book 3) — Demi Winters (February 2026)

Okay, so full disclosure: I own the first book and haven’t read it — yet! I’m hoping to binge the first two just in time for this release because I have it on good authority that this series is a banger.

✨ Frozen by Stardust (book 5) — Elizabeth Helen (April 2026)

If “winter magic + fantasy romance + yearning” is wrong, I don’t want to be right.
April is shaping up to be an absolute menace.

🐉 The Ballad of Falling Dragons (book 2) — Sarah A. Parker (April 2026)

DRAGONS.
Tragedy.
Lyrical writing that hurts on purpose.
This is not a read—it’s an experience, and I’m scared in the best way. Read my review of When the Moon Hatched (book 1)

🕊️ Rites of the Starling (book 2) — Devney Perry (April 2026)

Soft fantasy vibes with sharp emotional edges.
Expect yearning, sacrifice, and a story that sneaks up on you and ruins you quietly. Read my review of Shield of Sparrows (book 1)

💔 Broken Dove (book 2) — Dani Francis (May 2026)

The title alone feels like a threat.
I’m expecting heartbreak, morally gray decisions, and characters I will defend with my life. Read my review of Silver Elite (book 1)

🔥 Fury Bound (book 2) — Sable Sorensen (May 2026)

A title that screams rage, power, and barely-contained chaos?
Immediate yes. I’m ready for fire, fury, and romance that refuses to behave. Read my review of Dire Bound (book 1)

🔮 A Forsaken Prophecy (book 2) — Stacey McEwan (July 2026)

Book two energy is ALWAYS dangerous.
Prophecies, magic, and romance that absolutely will not go according to plan. Read my review of A Forbidden Alchemy (book 1)

😈 The Exquisite Torment of Loving Your Enemy (book 2) — Brigitte Knightley (July 2026)

Enemies-to-lovers girlies, this one is for us.
That title alone tells me I’m not surviving this emotionally—and I’m thrilled. Read my review of The Irresistible Urge to Fall for Your Enemy (book 1)

🐺 The Wolf King (book 3) — Lauren Palphreyman (Summer 2026)

The chokehold this series has on me should be illegal.
Bring on the wolves, the power struggles, and the romance that bites back. There’s no official release date as of writing this post, but the author has confirmed it will be coming some time in summer so I’ll be clearing the entire season for this one.

Most anticipated fantasy books of late 2026

👑⚔️ Captive, Traitor King (book 2) — Brigid Kemmerer (October 2026)

Political tension. Moral conflict. A title that screams betrayal.
October is about to be dramatic, and Brigid Kemmerer never misses. Read my review of Warrior, Princess, Assassin (book 1)

🌙 The Knave and the Moon — Rachel Gillig (September 2026)

Rachel Gillig + eerie atmosphere + emotional tension = instant obsession.
Fall reading season just got dangerously good. Read my review of The Knight and the Moth (book 1)

👑 The Woven Kingdom (Book 5) — Tahereh Mafi (September 2026)

Every installment feels like poetry wrapped in pain.
I don’t know what’s coming—but I know I’ll be highlighting entire pages and crying about it. Read my review of Every Spiral of Fate (book 4)

⛓️ The Evermore Trilogy (Book 2) — Julie Soto (December 2026)

If book one hurt you, congratulations—you’re back for more.
Julie Soto does not write gentle stories, and I trust her exactly zero percent with my heart. Read my review of Rose in Chains (book 1)

Bookish Term of the Year: Emotional Damage

This list proves one thing:
2026 is not a “casual reading” year.

It’s a year of sequels, dragons, enemies, wolves, rage, prophecy, and heartbreak.
If it’s magical, dramatic, and capable of ruining my sleep schedule—it’s probably on this blog… or it will be the second it releases.

Now excuse me while I stare at release dates and whisper soon.
