✨ Vibes:
Blood of Hercules meets the deadly trials of the Avalon Tower series.
Greek mythology, dangerous trials, magical creatures, and a ridiculously fast pace.
Basically, if you liked the first book, you’re getting more of exactly what made it fun.
💭 My Thoughts:
First things first: this book MOVES.
I loved that there’s a recap of the previous book before we jump right back into the story, and just like book one, the pacing is ridiculously fast.
You look up and you’re already a quarter of the way through.
Excuse me?
I just started reading five minutes ago.
The deadly trials especially kept me flying through the pages. When the characters were in the middle of a dangerous trial, I was completely invested.
THE POV PROBLEM
The format is similar to the first book, with multiple POVs and frequent jumps between teams during the trials.
And I get what it’s doing.
We’re seeing different parts of the trial unfold from different perspectives, which gives us a broader picture of what’s happening.
The problem?
I didn’t care about most of those people.
I was invested in the main characters and their story. The secondary characters have their own little storylines, but I wasn’t particularly interested in them.
So when the POV switched to someone I didn’t care about just to show us another part of the trial, I mostly found myself thinking:
Can we go back to the people I actually care about now?
Ironically, it did succeed in keeping me turning pages because I wanted to get through those sections and back to the main characters.
But when we weren’t in the middle of a deadly trial, I definitely found myself skimming some of those POVs.
Now let’s talk about our main man.
I still love his energy.
He’s flamboyant, dramatic, and just generally fun to read. I can absolutely see the Finnick Odair comparison.
And we finally get more of his backstory, including some answers about what’s been driving him this whole time.
I won’t spoil anything, but…
Intriguing.
Very intriguing.
Unfortunately, I still don’t think he’s making my book boyfriend leaderboard.
Not because he’s badly written. He’s just not my type.
Give me the powerful, dominating MMC any day.
THE ENDING
Babes, the book just… ends.
Right.
There.
In the middle of the action.
Just like the last book.
So once again, I’m left with a cliffhanger and no immediate answers.
And here’s the particularly cruel part of being an ARC reader:
THE NEXT BOOK ISN’T EVEN OUT YET.
Babes.
Why do I do this to myself??
Read this so we can suffer the cliffhanger together please.
📚Read Alikes:

Should you add Infinite Rage to your TBR?
Yes.
Especially if you enjoyed the first book.
If you’re already invested in the characters and want more deadly trials, Greek mythology, magical creatures, and fast-paced action, definitely keep going.
Just prepare yourself for another rude little cliffhanger.
