✨ Vibes:
Pirates of the Caribbean — ships, chaos, and sea-bound danger… but with fae and magic
💭 My Thoughts:
It’s honestly embarrassing how long this sat on my shelf.
I read The Broken Kingdoms years ago, knew I loved LJ Andrews’ writing, bought this when it released in 2023…
…and then just let it collect dust.
Tragic.
But let’s talk about the actual book:
From page one? Pirates of the Caribbean vibes.
And I was so here for it.
Ships. Sea. Danger. And then add in fae?
Say less.
Now this book does not waste your time.
It’s fast. It’s fun. It moves.
And honestly? That’s exactly what I wanted.
Not every fantasy needs to be dense and heavy—sometimes you just want something addictive that pulls you in and keeps going.
That’s this book.
Yeah, it’s a little predictable.
But here’s the thing—that didn’t bother me.
Because this is one of those books where you know the vibe going in, and the fun is just watching it play out.
And it delivers on exactly what it promises.
Now let’s talk the romance:
Okay but the MMC???
SIR.
How are the most dangerous men always the softest where it counts??
You’re getting:
✔️ Touch her and die energy
✔️ A man who challenges the FMC instead of coddling her
✔️ Growth that actually feels natural and earned
And the FMC?
She meets him there.
She pushes back, understands him and breaks through his walls.
They make sense together—and that’s what sells the romance.
Overall, this book is fast, addictive, romantic fantasy fun.
It’s not trying to be the most complex, layered story you’ve ever read.
It’s here to entertain you.
And it does that really well.
Also—yes, I immediately picked up book two.
Because apparently I have no self-control and my TBR is a disaster 🤪
