💭 My Thoughts:

First of all—

I spent a solid chunk of this book in denial.

If you’ve read the last one, you know why.

If you haven’t?

Just know I was out here clinging to delusions like they were facts.

Now let’s talk about the slow burn.

Because To Flame a Wild Flower said:

“Oh, you thought that was slow before? Cute.”

This is the slowest slow burn I’ve ever read.

Painfully slow.
Agonizingly slow.
“Why do I do this to myself?” slow.

And yet—

I’m still here.

Still invested.

Still emotionally compromised.

Now, the multi-POV structure?

It got me.

Every time we left the main storyline, I was like—

“Ugh, hurry up, I need to get back.”

And then three pages later?

I’m fully invested in the new POV.

Like… okay. Fine. You win.

It’s honestly kind of genius.

Or evil.

Still deciding.

That said—

The first half?

Not a ton happens.

Which was frustrating, especially after how strong the previous books were.

I came in wanting answers.

What I got instead?

More questions.

And then we hit the second half…

And the FMC?

Babes.

We need to talk.

Because WHY are we not asking the questions??

WHY are we avoiding conversations when the opportunity is RIGHT THERE??

I get it—she’s been through a lot.

And yes, she’s grown in some areas.

But in others?

I was *this close* to throwing the book.

It started to feel like certain choices were made just to push the plot… when they didn’t need to be.

So yeah—

I’ve got mixed feelings on that front.

BUT.

Let me be very clear about one thing:

This series has had me in a chokehold from the beginning.

I have not torn through a series like this in a while.

And of course—

Because the universe loves chaos—

It’s not finished.

And this book?

Ends on a cliffhanger that should honestly be illegal.

I’m unwell.

Emotionally unstable.

And apparently just… waiting indefinitely for the next book.

Love that for me.

Now—

Let’s talk about the real reason we’re here (I saved the best for last):

Rhordyn.

This man.

THIS MAN.

Book boyfriends everywhere need to watch their backs.

Because he is ENTERING THE ARENA.

Yes, he has communication issues.

Yes, he’s not perfect.

But the way he protects her? Challenges her to grow? Shows up for her? Provides…

Top tier.

If a man cared about me half as much as he cares about her?

I’d fold instantly.
